Fort Greely

In December, Jeremy took yet another trip up to AK for work.   This time for Boeing.   The trip was only a week long but plenty long enough for him.  The temps were balmy for AK in December - minus 25 to plus 15 degrees F.  No arctic gear required - which was awfully nice.  Standard cold weather clothes were plenty warm.  It didn't snow much either so it was about as easy a trip as it could have been for the time of year.  The town of Delta Junction was pretty desolate.  A couple of gas stations, half a dozen bar-restaurants, and some ramshackle businesses that it was hard to figure out just what they were.   You might go to Rick's Tires to get clothing and Bella's Pizza to get steak if you get the drift.   If you remember the show Northern Exposure - it was a lot like that.  Anyway -here's some photos from the trip.  I also stopped off in North Pole to send off Christmas cards and pick up some souvenirs.    There's some pics of that stop too.  Click photos thumbs for larger images.
